Creative Problem-Solving workshops designed for individuals,
businesses and organizations.

"If you have half a mind to solve a problem, it's not enough! Catherine Graham's training has given us techniques to combine the strengths of the analytical and creative halves of our minds to develop innovative, lasting solutions."
- Brian Cowan, University of Windsor

Words@work: Reframing Problems through words and images using metaphor.

"Strange words simply puzzle us; ordinary words convey what we know already;
it is from metaphor that we can get hold of something new and fresh
- Aristotle

At work you are often challenged to think 'outside the box'. Yet how often do you try to do this with varying degrees of success?

Catherine Graham's innovative and interactive workshop Words@work will show you a transformational approach to problem-solving. Using tools designed specifically for this workshop, participants focus on a problem of their choice. By learning to utilize and link the left hemisphere (analytical) and the right hemisphere (imagistic), insightful and practical information is obtained, organically, from thinking through the box.

This experiential and intuitive technique leads to greater insights into problems: how to cope, how to manage, how to solve. And in addition to this greater awareness, the workshop allows employees to get to know one another better.

What happens during Words@work:

  • The workshop begins with a description of Words@work and its potential impact within your organization.
  • Quiz: Are you left/right hemisphere dominant?
  • Brainstorming and defining your problem.
  • Transforming the problem via metaphor.

Feedback from past participants:

"A great workshop Catherine. You tie in a lot of ideas in a way that finds its foundation in art."
- Matt Wannan, University of Western Ontario

"Watch and listen as the energy level rises in the room during a Words@work seminar. People leave with smiles on their faces, refreshed by a different, yet centuries-old, way of looking at problems. One of the best workshops we've hosted at our university. Graham's workshop encourages what is too often missing within organizations: an intuitive way to look at problems."
- Natasha Wiebe, University of Windsor

"Your Words@work workshop was very important to me. I was struggling with oppressive and overwhelming work and life challenges. Words@work made it possible for me to re-conceptualize and describe them in a way that made them seem more manageable. As a result, I was able to find practical courses of action that worked for me. You helped me find a vocabulary to move forward positively at a critical point in my life and I remain grateful."
-David Lawson, President, Career Solutions.
