In November 2004, we had our student awards night at Queens.   It was a delightful evening.
 

Our final presentation for the year 2004 was made by E. Contestabile (centre).  It was an excellent presentation with lots of interesting work done examining explosion and their devastating effects.
 

R.Miller (left) made the first presentation of 2005 to our chapter on Carbon Nanotube Compsites.
 

In February 2005, we had a student poster night.  We had a great turn out with over 10 posters from both Carleton and Ottawa University.  These are the judges deliberating.  From left to right: A. Lockley (AECL), O.T. Woo (AECL) and M. Roth (ASM).
 

The undergrad winner was H. Awatta, A. Merati, M. Yanishevsky, "Aluminum Lithium Alloys Long Term Durability Concerns".
 

The graduate winner was I. Shabib, K. Chen, R. Miller, L.R. Zhao, "Multi-scale Modeling of the Indentation of Ni-Al Nano-layers".
 

The overall winner was J. Tsang, A. Merati, J. Beddoes, "Nucleation and Short Fatigue Crack Growth Behaviour of Al2024-T3".
