Biography

        Joanna grew up in Newfoundland and studied painting at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, then came to Ontario to complete an MFA in painting at the University of Waterloo. Her work has appeared in over 60 exhibitions since then, including solo exhibitions at Campbell House Museum, Hang Man Gallery and Zilberschmuck Gallery, as well as numerous juried exhibitions such as The Artist Project, the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition, and the Queen West Art Crawl. She is a three-time recipient of the Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Award, and has received two grants from the Newfoundland and Labrador Arts Council. Joanna lives with her husband and two children in Toronto.
