      HOUSE HISTORY


      Red Chateau restaurant is located in the house built in year 1850 on Main St., the first and only
      street in Drumondville, since 1882 as village of Niagara Falls. The street connected two Great
      lakes. About 70 000 tourists came yearly by a steamboat and then were brought by horse
      carriage to the Main Street with many hotels, taverns, brewery and shops surrounded by only
      fruit trees and meadows. The house stands on former War of 1812 Battlefield.


      RED CHATEAU HISTORY


      Central European born Chef Jarmila S. was interested in cooking and baking since early age.
      To became a chef she attended professional culinary school in Europe for several years.
      A professional passion for quality gourmet food and interest in décor and romantic ambiance
      of historic castles and chateaus built across Europe lead Jarmila to open Red Chateau restaurant.
      Red Chateau is here to give you feel and taste of past times.


      CUISINE HISTORY


      Red Chateau menu is based on dishes served in European restaurants near half a century ago.
      The dishes are originated from Central Europe and France with only a few from Eastern Europe.
      Some dishes are clamed to be traditional in several European countries.
      Authentic classic cuisine as well as chef's specialities are prepared by using healthy and flavorfull
      French cooking technology.
      Delicious desserts and rye sourdough bread are made from scratch on premises as well.
      Chef Jarmila creates dishes from scratch using quality fresh ingredients and vegetable oil.
      Spices, fruit and vegetable are organically grown in our garden.
      Our cooking style with organics results in real taste of ingredients and quality benefitial to our health.

     COQ AU VIN

      Braised chicken, flavorful sauce composed with onion, carrot,
      portabella mushrooms, house smoked bacon, garlic, herbs, red wine.

     RABBIT

      Braised rabbit with root vegetables, finished as a classic Bohemian smooth cream sauce
      Accompanied by Czech dumpling, vegetable garnish


     HUNGARIAN BEEF GOULASH

      Slowly stewed diced beef in paprika base with six varieties of organic tomatoes,
      peppers and other vegetable, organic herbs and garlic, Czech or Potato dumpling

      Pan-fried fillet Sauteed salmon with organic green beans

      Beef tenderloin topped with sauteed organic vegetable
      blend with organic spices and garlic
      Accompanied by roasted potatoes and vegetable garnish


     BEEF STROGANOFF

      (Most famous Russian dish, made according to the original recipe)
      Bites of beef tenderloin sauteed with onion, white and portabella
      mushrooms, organic pickles and organic herbs, finished as sour cream sauce
      with a touch of lemon. Accompanied by vegetable garnish
      and roasted potatoes or Czech dumpling, topped with organic herbs



     PORK FILLET BOHEMIA

      Sauteed boneless pork fillet with organic spices and organic ACHOCHA
      Finished with a flavorfull classic Bohemian vegetable root based sauce
      Accompanied by Potato dumpling, vegetable garnish



     VEGETARIAN

      Sauteed vegetable blend organically grown in our garden, organic garlic and spices

      Red Chateau was built on former War of 1812 - 1814 Battlefield in year 1850 on the first street in Niagara Falls.
      The picture was taken from a wooden pagoda standing on Lundy's Lane near intersection with Main St. in 1880.
      The original house structure holds together by square-head hand-made nails.
