Customs office in Regina.

Home of Saskatchewan Roughriders!

I bought a tuque to get into the spirit of the region.

I don't know what that is.

Flat as far as the eye can see.

Munchies and maps were well stocked for the long journey.

My first night's accommodations at Shaunavon. Not the worst I've ever experienced.

This place looked safe enough for dinner...

I ordered water...

I ordered pork chops... I never figured out what those huge bumps were on the meat but boy were they chewy.

The next morning.

Beautiful.

This was cool. A railroad snow cleaner.

Every small town in the area had one of these.

Gorgeous.

The US side.

The customs port of Climax

The customs port of Monchy (I don't know who came up with these names...)

Too many hours of driving in one day and an iPod can make a man do strange things. One perfect example is this video. (50.5 MB file)

My second night's stay was in Swift Current...

where I opted for more comfortable accommodations...

and a more familiar cuisine.

Poor cattle being left outside in freezing weather.

Those of you who remember my New Brunswick trip will remember the carrot game - 1 carrot

This time I tried to break my previous record... - 2 carrots

While taking the pictures myself - 3 carrots

tourist trap

4 carrots

5 carrots

6 carrots

7 carrots

8 carrots - ouch!

The customs port of West Poplar River

I was lucky enough to encounter a field full of deer.

So I pulled over and watched them while eating lunch.

Back in Regina

Nice accommodations

With a decent sized room.

The University of Regina

The trip has finally come to an end.

and I drove over 1500 kilometers!

Top it all off with my luggage being lost back in Ottawa!
