       Bored out of our minds because no one was available to do anything tonight, Natalia and I decided to embark on a mammoth game of Solitaire Showdown over MSN.  This dual took over 4 and half hours and involved over 30 hands played.  The addictive game was cut short because of a prior Ruhi commitment, else they would have probably gone through the night and morning.  At this point we both consider ourselves quite skilled and we welcome all challengers.  Bring it!

       Wow for those of you that missed Return of the King, go check it out ASAP.  In commemoration of that movie I have posted the pictures from the LOTR devotional that was held at my place last week. Enjoy.

       I'd like to thank everyone who attended the amazing record-breaking precedent-setting Lord of the Rings Devotional that took place at my house yesterday.  Not only did it surpass the 14 hour mark, but there was over 7 hours of movies watched, an original rap performance by the Dalai Rama and attended by 33 people!  Pictures coming soon.

       Just wanted to remind everyone not to forget about the Devotional taking place at my house on Friday December 12th at 8 pm.  The voting results are in and it turns out that Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers edged out watching both movies by an 8 to 6 victory. 

       But being a hardcore LOTRs fan myself it just wouldn't feel right watching only one movie.  So I'm making an exception for myself and whoever wants to join me.  I will be watching The Fellowship of the Ring at 2:30 pm on Friday after lunch.  After which I will go out for dinner and then to the Devotional.  If you are interested in watching that with me you are more then welcome to, just let me know in advance.

       I'd like to wish a Happy Birthday to my brother Rama.  Today he reached the milestone age of 18 and is now ready to pursue his lifelong goal of being a professional wrestler with the WWE.  Its good to see he's gotten over his ridiculous childhood dreams of becoming an engineer, a lawyer, and a doctor, and is now ready to pursue something serious.  Love ya bro - Vafa

       Just a note to everyone about the upcoming Movie Devotional that will be held at my place on Friday December 12th.  The main attraction of that night, other than me of course, will be The Lord of the Rings!  Now as much as I would like to watch all 7 hours of the first 2 movies I learned from the last movie devotional that watching 2 long movies is not possible.  So lets try and decide which movie to watch with a friendly poll.

       Last night we engaged in a fun game of Monopoly with me, Marty, Andrew, Homa, Sahba and Rama.  Several new tactics for making deals were developed in this game.  One was to talk Persian so that no one could understand what you were saying and therefore not be able to interject.  Another method was to leave the room entirely, complete the deal and return.  Some memorable dice rolls also occurred, most interesting was how because of repeated jail time Andrew wasn't able to pass Go until about the 10th roll.  On top of that he landed of Free Parking about 5 times out of those 10 rolls.  We still don't know where he was hiding that horseshoe.

       Pictures are up for the Birth of Baha'u'llah celebration and the after party that was held at my house.  Friends were able to enjoy the generic cards and Halo that are always played, but to put a new spin on things we added some karaoke.

       What a wonderfully fun Matrix devotional we had at my place a week ago.  A great time was had by all who came out.  Lets look back and see how one guest thoroughly enjoyed his time during the movies.

       For all those living in the west end and for those who like a little change of venue come on out to a phat Matrix devotional gathering on Saturday Nov 1st at my place.  Just think of how fun it will be: Matrix projected on a wall, food, friends, fun and some devotions.  Now that's entertaining!  If you need directions to my place just ask.
NOTE: In no way am I trying to take anything away from Marty's devotional.  There was so much interest in this event that we felt it would be best to have it at two locations.

       I always thought Martin felt inadequate when comparing his website to mine.  I never thought he'd make that public by posting such an obvious rant dated October 22nd.  Lets all please reach out to Martin and comfort him so that he doesn't make such embarrassing outbursts again.  Also please note that none of those 1000 hits were from my computer since my IP address is blocked from the counter. - Vafa

       A milestone has been reached!  In less than 2 months of being live my website has surpassed the 1000 hits mark.  I'd like to thank all those who have visited my site and hopefully enjoyed it.  I look forward to your patronage for many more milestones. - Vafa

       Anybody interested in checking out a Sens game for only $16.  For those of you that don't know, its a pretty good price.  I'm planning to go with my siblings but the more people we can get out the more fun it'll be.  The game is on October 23 at 7:30 pm against the Washington Capitals.  Let me know if you'd like to attend.  Tickets will have to be purchased soon.

       The fans have been waiting and we will soon deliver. The next single off our Staight Ballin' album is almost complete and will soon be released.  Here is a little taste of what can be expected.

       Well I finally got the pictures up for the incredibly fun and popular paintball day in the album section.  By now stories of everyone's bravery must be circulating around.  Do you have a good story from paintball day?  Why don't you email it to me and I'll put them all up for people to enjoy.  Also please don't believe any stories you hear about Andrew and Shameem playing cards behind a barrier and me sleeping on the mattress I brought during combat.

       The stage is set for Paintball!!!  Congratulations to the lucky 24 people who will be participating in a day of carnage and fun.  For the rest of you, expect to hear some incredible stories from that day.  Stories of heroism, stories of cowardice, stories of commando tactics, and stories of my paintball domination.

       I'm sure most of you are now aware that a grandiose day of paintball is being planned for Sunday October 5th.  All the information you need is provided in the official ad below.

Make sure you let the sports committee know if you plan to attend or you'll miss out.  The best time to drop off your $10 deposit would be at the city-wide feast being held this Saturday Sept. 27th.

By now I hope some of you, like me, are getting excited about this event.  But to further promote it I have used my trusty time machine to go forward in time and take some pictures of the event.  Those can be seen here and in the new "Fun" section that I have added to the menu.

       Added pictures from the night of the Fundraiser Gala that took place on the 13th.  I'm sure all who participated enjoyed the Baha'i atmosphere, the food and the dancing.
